Wedding bells chimed for Kaka too !

04 Oct 2007

The dazzling footballer first met his wife-to-be Caroline Celico in the year 2001 when he was nineteen and playing for Sao Paulo FC; and she, a fourteen-year-old pursuing her high school studies. Their four-year standing of sweet romance finally culminated into a memorable wedding for both in late 2005.

Kaka, the twenty-three-year-old Brazilian midfielder has married eighteen-year-old Caroline Celico, his teenage sweetheart just two days before Christmas in 2005. On the grandeur occasion the bride Caroline Celico was attired in a stunning Christian Dior dress while Kaka the groom was dressed in an elegantly Giorgio Armani suit.

The wedding bells rang for made-for-each-other couple at evangelical Reborn in Christ Church in Sao Paulo with blessings raining from six hundred odd guests present on the occasion. The galaxy of footballers who graced the occasion are Cafu, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, Ricardinho, Dida, Roque Junior, Julio Baptista, Ze Roberto and Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira and Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf.

The newly wed enjoyed their honeymoon at an undisclosed spot outside Brazil. The couple now happily lives in Italy.

Kaka, the charismatic Brazilian midfielder

04 Oct 2007

Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite… who? He is Kaka the charismatic Brazilian midfielder and AC Milan’s Superstar, whose rise to stardom within no time was so awesome and phenomenal. It was his younger brother Rodrigo while in his childhood couldn’t pronounce the name and so nicknamed him Kaka.

Since his football debut at the age of nineteen, Kaka has become the most invaluable player for Brazil. He is very good at creating opportunities to score goals, which was evident in his very debut season in 2001 where he scored sensational 12 goals for his club Sao Paulo; and subsequently earned the title of ‘Top Player’ in Brazil Championships the following year. He also played a dynamic role in Brazil’s success in 2004 Copa America and the 2005 Confederations Cup and in 2007 he was the leading scorer in the UEFA Championships and rightly earned the title of UEFA’s ‘Footballer of the Year’.

The attacking midfielder is very smart at devastating the defenses with his stunning attacks and the way he pulls away his markers out of the positions allowing his teammates to score goals is just marvelous. It was indeed a great compliment for this terrific midfielder, when Carlos Alberto Parreira, the Brazilian coach dubbed Kaka “as one of the finest talents produced by his country in the past 50 years.”

Kaka vs Cristiano Ronaldo

04 Oct 2007

If the debate rages on, that who’s best between the two, Kaka or Cristiano Ronaldo, it is difficult to conclude in comparison since both are excellent midfielders and gifted talented players. They have their own playing styles and are undoubtedly the best in the world. Kaka is unstoppable on the field when he runs with the ball shattering defenses and sending it into the goalpost. While Cristiano Ronaldo is good at dribbling and hogging the ball but he sometimes fails in passing it, because his rivals either fell him or he dives often on the field for which he is castigated.

Kaka has an added advantage in that he amazingly plays with either foot and is feared most by his rivals because of his unpredictable nature of play. They do not know where he would send the ball in the next move. He literally throws his rivals out of gear and into confusion.

While Kaka has class and brings maturity into the play by creating opportunities for his teammates to score, Cristiano Ronaldo is aggressive and is often said of him that he sometimes does not pass the ball to his teammates when it was required most of him to do so in the interest of the team. Cristiano Ronaldo’s fans attribute this, his desire to score goals all by himself, to his youthful brash and aggressiveness that he brings into play.

Otherwise both are excellent players and have greatly contributed to their respective clubs and countries and they are still in good form and have many more years of game still left in them.

Kaka Europe’s best bet

04 Oct 2007

Kaka has attained a sort of a demi-god status with plenty of awards, accolades and wins. He became the first Milan footballer to be honored with the title of UEFA’s ‘Footballer of the Year’, which until last year was known as the ‘Most Valuable Player award’ that went to his compatriot Ronaldinho.

Playing with class and brilliance Kaka helped his club AC Milan to the glory of Champions League. The amazing forward has also ended up being the top scorer in the Champions League events. Kaka also won the ‘Best Forward award’, Kicker ‘Best Player in the World’ and Gazzetta dello Sport ‘World’s Best Footballer’.

Also in a poll conducted by uefa.com for the Fans’ Player of the Season title, more than 100,000 users participated in the vote and chose Kaka in a close contest as the ‘Vodafone Fans’ Player of the Season’. United Manchester’s Cristiano Ronaldo came second while Dica from Steaua FC took third place.

Quite happy with the things going his way, Kaka said, “Winning trophies is what motivates me and I am looking forward to the next challenge. This UEFA Champions League, however, will always have a special place in my heart for the extra honor of ending up as the tournament’s top scorer.” Further speaking of his next goal the demi-god said, “I have won three of the world’s most prestigious competitions now, but I still think there are a lot of things to improve and to chase.”
